About the firm

Meet the people behind Civitas Law.

A small, dedicated team focused on giving every client the direct attention their matter deserves, in English, Farsi, Russian and Serbian, across the GTA.

Nasibeh Mehrpouyan was called to the bar in Ontario and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario. She founded Civitas Law to offer Toronto individuals, families, and small business owners the kind of legal help she believes people actually need: direct access to their lawyer, straightforward explanations of their options, and honest advice about what a matter will likely cost and how long it may take. Nasibeh speaks English, Farsi (Persian), Russian and Serbian, and is glad to serve Toronto's Persian-speaking community in their own language, as well as the wider GTA community in English.

Her approach is grounded in the idea that legal problems are also personal ones. Whether a client is dealing with a criminal charge, a separation, an immigration application, or a commercial dispute, Nasibeh starts by listening carefully to understand the full picture before recommending a path forward. She believes clients make better decisions when they understand the law as it applies to their specific situation, not generic legal jargon, which is why she walks through the reasoning behind her advice at every stage of a file.

As a sole practitioner, Nasibeh built Civitas Law around the belief that a smaller firm can deliver a more responsive, more personal client experience than a large practice where files get passed between associates. She keeps clients informed at each step, stays realistic about outcomes, and works to make sound legal help accessible to the individuals and small businesses of Toronto and the surrounding GTA.
